What we keep, and why

Who runs this

Plumario runs Plumario. It is a small, private writing tool for children — not a social network, not a school system, and not part of a larger company’s data.

What we keep

• The name and animal your child picks for themselves. It can be a nickname — it does not have to be their real name.
• What they write, including earlier drafts, so a story is never lost.
• The questions our coach asked, and the exact sentence of theirs each question was about, so you can see why it asked.
• Your name, email and password, so the account works.
• Ordinary security and service records: sign-in times, errors, and the fact that a page was opened.

We do not ask for a date of birth, a home address, a school, a phone number, or a photograph, because none of them are needed to help a child write.

Where the writing goes

Stories are stored in Plumario’s own private database.

To work out what to ask about a piece of writing, the text is sent to a language model running on a computer the operator owns, reachable only over the operator’s own private network. It is not a public chatbot, it is not a third-party service, and the writing is not kept there or used to train anything.

If that model is unavailable, Plumario falls back to questions written in advance by a person. A child’s session is never blocked on it.

Checking that the coach is any good

With your consent, a small sample of writing may be put in a private queue so the operator can read it and judge whether the coach’s questions were actually helpful. This is how a bad question gets found and fixed.

That queue is restricted to the operator. It is never made public, never committed to a code repository, and never sold or shared. You can withdraw this consent at any time without losing the account or the writing.

Who else can see a story

Nobody, by default. There is no feed, no profile, no other children, and no browsing.

If you create a share link for a grandparent, that one link shows that one finished story to whoever holds it. You can revoke it. Shared pages carry no tracking of any kind and are never indexed by search engines.

How long we keep it

• Writing stays while the account is in use.
• If a child’s work is untouched for twelve months, it is scheduled for deletion and you are told before that happens.
• Encrypted backups age out within thirty days, so a deletion is permanent within a month at the outside.
• Deleting a story or a child profile from the grown-up area removes the drafts, the coach’s questions, the records and the printable book.

What you can do, at any time

• Read anything your child has written.
• Export a child’s complete data as a file you keep.
• Delete a story, a child profile, or the whole account permanently.
• Reset a child’s PIN, or change the family code so an old one stops working.
• Withdraw your consent, which stops child sign-in immediately while leaving the writing available for you to export or delete.

All of it lives in the grown-up area. None of it requires emailing anyone.
